What is the right way to remove cat litter? If your cat is not trained to litter, the answer is simple – wipe the bucket with a tissue and rinse, dampen your urine with more tissue paper and rinse. But what do you do when your cat does his business in the litter box? Can you still get rid of the same thing – is the cat litter washable?
It depends on whether it is urine or faeces and what cat litter you are using. If you use sand in your cat’s litter box, you should not rinse it. Even though a cat mask won’t have much sand, your toilet will eventually freeze. The same applies to the other two main types of litter: cat litter and cat litter. The plumber’s bill to unscrew your pipes will bankrupt you.
If you use a crystal litter that is made of silica gel, your cat litter is a little lighter. The crystal cat litter absorbs the cat’s urine into itself without concentrating, so it is flushed in small amounts. It also doesn’t stick to the cat’s dice, so you can flush the toilet too. However, it is still not advisable to do so regularly in the long run.
Just as it depends on the biodegradable cat litter, it depends. Some of them are made of quite large pellets that can also clog your water supply. Others are made of wood or sawdust and can be without problems. However, if you have a septic tank, be aware that these materials do not necessarily decompose immediately. We could talk about the year – this can make your septic tank quite full. Somehow, the thought of a used litter and cat’s neck coming out of my supported drains leaves me with a cold sweat.
Some manufacturers have begun washing cat litter using calls for greater convenience. Naturally, these washable cat litter is more expensive. To make cat litter washable, they use a variety of biodegradable materials that should pass safely through your water supply. These newer types of cat litter will theoretically not turn into sludge that can clog your sewer pipes. Some plumbers are starting to differ. During business, they went to a home where sewer pipes and plumbing were littered with washable cat litter. Or so the confused and anxious resident of the house said. Who is lying here? I don’t know, but it’s probably not advisable to flush a large amount of trash around the toilet.
It’s still better to dispose of most of your cat’s litter the old way – either with the rest of the litter or carefully buried somewhere in the garden. In the garden, your cat’s urine and feces would be a good fertilizer for your grass and flowers. Cat urine and feces can contain dangerous bacteria and you should not use them when fertilizing vegetables and fruit trees.
I have to admit that a real washable cat litter would be insanely comfortable when it is snowing or raining heavily. This would certainly simplify the disposal of cat litter.
